Ipamorelin
A selective ghrelin-receptor agonist studied for clean GH pulses without cortisol spill.
Selective by design.
Ipamorelin is a pentapeptide ghrelin-receptor (GHSR-1a) agonist. Its appeal in research is selectivity: it stimulates growth-hormone release with little to no rise in cortisol or prolactin, unlike earlier secretagogues.
At a glance
The amplifier in the pair.
Where CJC-1295 supplies the GHRH 'go' signal, Ipamorelin amplifies the resulting pulse through the ghrelin-receptor pathway. The two activate different receptors that converge on GH release.
Ipamorelin's selectivity is its defining research trait - earlier GHS compounds raised cortisol and prolactin, which Ipamorelin largely avoids in study settings.

- Documented synergy with GHRH analogs
- IGF-1 elevation downstream
- Body-composition signals in limited studies
- Appetite/GI effects via ghrelin pathway
- Long-term human safety
- Anti-ageing claims
- Optimal research protocols
How it works
Ghrelin receptor
Selective GHSR-1a agonist driving GH secretion.
CharacterizedLow spill-over
Minimal cortisol/prolactin elevation vs older GHS.
DocumentedPulse synergy
Combines with GHRH analogs for ~2–3× GH output.
ResearchIGF-1 axis
Feeds downstream IGF-1 signalling.
