TB-500
The migration peptide.
TB-500 is the research name for a synthetic form of Thymosin β4, one of the most-studied actin-regulating peptides in the literature. Its signature active region, LKKTETQ, is tied to cell migration - the process by which repair cells reach a wound.
At a glance
One protein, many repair roles.
Thymosin β4 occurs in nearly all mammalian cells and is among the most abundant actin-binding proteins. TB-500 research focuses on its short active sequence rather than the full protein.
Reported activity spans angiogenesis, cell migration and anti-inflammatory signalling - strong, repeated findings across animal models, much like BPC-157.
Reading the evidence honestly
Not all claims are equal.
- Actin binding and cell-migration regulation (well characterised)
- Accelerated wound closure in animal models
- Cardiac and corneal repair signals in research settings
- Anti-inflammatory and immune-modulating effects
- Hair-follicle and tissue-regeneration models
- Anecdotal recovery use
- Human efficacy and dosing
- Long-term safety profile
- Systemic 'anti-ageing' positioning
How it works
Research has examined several distinct signalling pathways, summarised below.
Actin regulation
Sequesters G-actin, enabling the cytoskeletal remodelling behind migration.
Well characterisedAngiogenesis
Promotes endothelial-cell migration and vessel formation in models.
PreclinicalAnti-inflammatory
Down-regulates inflammatory cytokines in injury models.
Animal modelsTissue repair
Linked to faster re-epithelialisation across wound types.

Signs of a quality compound
Despite an extensive preclinical record, TB-500 / Thymosin β4 has no general human approval and is sold as a research material. It is prohibited in competitive sport.
